Join us this week for First Friday, the monthly celebration of Downtown Bryan!  The cafe will be serving fresh, local, gourmet sandwiches and treats until 10pm and the bar will stay open till 2am serving Texas beer and wine.  So come out in your warmest sweater and enjoy good food, beer, wine, art, music and friends!

Artist: Cielle “Sky” Chevalier was born in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia on a cold and rainy night, December 5th, 1985. Attending the Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Georgia earned her a Bachelor’s of Fine Art in Painting. Specializing in watercolor, oil, and mixed media, her work is a juxtaposition of figurative and abstract expressionism with floral impressions. She maintains a wide range of artistic abilities from ceramics to “live art” to tattooing. Her influences include the works of Frida Kahlo, Wassily Kandinsky, Gustav Klimt, Odilon Redon, and Jenny Saville. She owes everything she is to her family and friends. “The profit of art is not solely monetary, you can never starve as long as you paint from the soul.” -Sky Chevalier.  www.facebook.com/skychevalier

Music: The Brazos Valley Troupe will play from 6-7 pm. The Big Apple Trio consists of Brian Lippman, Karl Rehn and Wayne Smith.  When asked to describe their sound, they replied “it’s just good straight up jazz!”  They will play from 7-10 pm outside in the alley if the weather cooperates!  The Rob Dues Band (www.robduesband.com) will play from 1030- 130 am.

We will also be hosting a fundraiser for Voices For Children (a non-profit organization that works with CASA and foster children) where with a five dollar donation you can paint your own Christmas tree ornament to take home or hang on The Village Tree!
