This Weekend at The Village

We have some great things happening at The Village this Fall.

Remember every Thursday is Singer/Songwriter night from 9-12.  Come out and enjoy hearing some of our very own talented staff show you their musical talents as well as many other songwriters around the Brazos Valley.

This Friday morning at 7am we will kickoff Village Yoga, taught by our very own Kellie Wilcox-Moore.  Village Yoga will be a vinasaflow class for all levels.

The class will be donation based, so free, but students are encouraged to make a donation of any size.

All of the donationswill be given to a different local charity each month.
The class will start at 7am and run about an hour. We will try it for the next four weeks and we’ll see how it goes from there.

Be sure to bring your own mat.
You should come to the class and spread the word :)

May First Friday at The Village

Jenna Harbert, sophmore at Texas A&M will be our featured artist for the month of May.  Here is her artist statement:

My paint work is in acrylic, oil, collage, pastel, or marker. I love using my hands, creating a direct, cathartic experience.
Each work heavily reflects whatever music I am listening to. I’m inspired by the beauty and fundamentals of nature.
In my photographs, I focus primarily on motion, physics of nature, light, and color contrast. My vision is abstract, and impulsive, that invloves taking several hundred pictures each shoot.
My work is entirely intuitive stroke or thought, creating a visually aesthetic experience.

*If you’re interested in commissioning a painting or have other ideas
please contact me via email JennaHarbert@neo.tamu.edu, or HarbertJenna@gmail.com
